This is a great question. Drinking alcohol is very hard on your liver and toxic for your body. If you are trying to make your liver healthier so that it can help you burn fat, then drinking alcohol won't bring you towards that goal. With that being said, an occasional drink, is a choice for you to make. Realize that it is a choice, that may be enjoyable, which is fine, but does not push you towards your goal of a healthy liver and metabolism.
